THE NEUMANN HOUSE

The Neumann House is one of only about 12 residential houses designed by Marcel Breuer in the world. It was commissioned by Vera Neumann, an American artist and entrepreneur who was friends with Breuer, to design her home. From 2014 to 2018, the house was carefully restored by Ken Sena and Joseph Mazzaferro. Since purchasing the house in 2021, I’ve immersed myself in studying Breuer’s design and architecture, down to the smallest details.

Modern house exterior and interior with wooden elements and stone landscaping.
Modern interior with stone flooring and minimalist outdoor architecture.
walkway leading to a building, with a view of water and greenery beyond.

What makes this house so special is how it opens up a new perspective on life. It truly feels like a gift. I can escape for a few days into nature, and reflect on my life and work from a different angle. Architecturally, it is not only an incredible asset but also a responsibility—I feel a duty to preserve it so future generations can experience Breuer’s vision. On a personal level, the house brings me immense joy. It gives me the chance to step away from the stresses of city life and work, spend time with my family, celebrate life, and savor moments of peace, beauty, and inspiration.
